    There were two men working with a gentleman, a father and his son.

    to the father, ''I thought you were to send Jack away to learn to be a thief.'' ''I sent him last night, and he told me he had it learned,'' said the father. ''He'll have the trade learned if he able to take the horses out of the plough and I'll have two men ploughing,'' said the gentleman.
    The father went home to tell Jack what he had to do. ''Ah,'' said Jack that is easily done. Jack got some rabbits and went behind a ditch. When the men came to the other side of the ditch Jack let go two of the rabbits . ''There are two rabbits,'' said one of the men. Jack let go two more. '' The place is full of rabbits,'' said the men. They let go the horses and went off after the rabbits. Jack brought away the horses.
    When the gentleman heard the horses were gone he was not satisfied. ''Well,'' said the gentleman, ''he hasn't the trade learned yet. If he is able to take the horse out of the stable to-night and I'll have two men guarding him one on his
