- Herbs.Some weeds and herbs are very harmful to land. The most harmful is scutch-grass. Scutch-grass grows on every kind of land. When scutch-grass gets into a field or garden it can't be got rid of readily. It spreads all over, and little piece would grow.There are other herbs not so harmful as scutch-grass. These are some of them, thistles, docks nettles, buchalláins and scoutguns.Thistles generally grow in meadows and pasture fields. Docks grow everywhere and are harmful
