- Soap MakingSoap was made in Dromin by Mrs Kennelly. A load of ferns burned to ashes and wet with urine. This was mixed with geese dung and made in to bales. These were then put into the fire and baked. Then stored till washing day. A lump was put to boil with clothes and thoroughly cleaned them.Salt MakingSalt was made in Ahafona by a man Costello who had a salt pan there. The salt pan was got from Limerick.Told by Mrs. T Allen
