- I live in Dooncaha. "Dooncaha" means "The fort of the battle". The most uncommon name is Ware. A river divides Tarmons from Dooncaha. Forty families live in Dooncaha. Five very old people are now alive. Eleven others are getting the pension. Two of those people, Mrs. Stack and Mrs. Shanley, can speak Irish. The families that dwell in Dooncaha are the O Connors, Stacks, Mangans, Scanlons and the Mulvihills. Lakes or woods are not to be found in Dooncaha. Two forts are situated, one in Hanlan's field and one in Kennedy's.
