    The tailor's needles are called "betweens". A piece of beeswax, a yard of linen for a lap cloth, and a pair of scissors are all that he requires.
    The dressmakers in Glin make shirts, and few shirts are made at home now because they are got very cheaply in the shop.
    Only children's stockings and men's socks are made now because all ladies wear silk stockings.
    People wear fancy dresses for feasts.
