    Long, long ago, there lived a man and he was conveying a priest.

    He said he would not, but she insisted that he should go. She came as far as his own house arguing with him. Finally, he pitched her to the devil.
    As he entered his bedroom that night she appeared outside the window, and called him by his name and asked him again to go. He told her to clear and go to the seventy-nine devils. As soon as he had said that, she threw something against the window and disappeared. Next morning when he woke one of his eyes was very painful. He spent several months in a Dublin hospital, but his eye was never the same after.
