tan-yard in Tralee. The people used be working at this yard every day tanning leather. It was very hard to tan this leather, but some people were used to it. First they used get lime and salt and they used mix them together. Then they would hold at this until they would have it tanned. The old people used to say when they would see you washing anything in the feet water, they would say washed in the feet water and dried on the crane. the used always say this, because anything that was ever dried on the crane was not clean.
