  1. A Song (continued)

There was a man there one time,

    (continued from previous page)
    In dear old Abbeydorney
    That lies near sweet Tralee.
Many is the pleasant dance we had
    On the hills of Lackamore
Dancing with the collens that made
    My feet feel sore
A ball, a dance, or a wedding was
    Never held without me
    In dear old Abbeyorney
    That lies near sweet Tralee.
On Sundays I would roam about
    Through the plains of Ballysheen
Hunting for the hare that strayed
    From distant preserved breveen.
By Aulane's green fields and Shannow's
    sedgy banks
Where the trout runs too and fro
Around by the bogs of Derverin
    And through the Bohevroe
All those places I have roamed
    hoping again to see
    You peaceful Abbeydorney
    That lies near sweet Tralee
