    present day and people come there in every mode of convenience, the motor car, the trap car and the bicycle motor and peddle, to see the famous caves and if possible to get into them to see where the noble little band of six Republicans put up such a gallant fight against hundreds of free state Soldiers for three days and three nights until all their ammunition was wasted and hunger and thirst compelled them to surrender. So ended the tragedy of Clashmealcon Caves.
