    Long ago there lived three cruel giants.

    (continued from previous page)
    their mother killed. So he went to the king to tell him so. When the king heard this, he was very glad. He told Jack the Jailor to keep the giant's palace, and lands. Then Jack went back to the giant's palace, and lived happy ever afterwards. The king was very thankful to Jack, and he was very happy because he had no one to annoy him.
