    This is how Colonel Howley got possession of the land in Cooga. One of Cromwell's soldiers was transplanted, and a man named McLoughlin got his land. Then he got sorry and he sold the land to one of the landlord's ancestors for five pounds and a horse to take him to the railway station. The land was handed down from father to son until Colonel Howley became heir.
