He says certain prayers over the unsalted butter with his hands in a certain position. This ointment is rubbed on the swelling until it disappears. The patient has to go to the old doctor three times. The man named lived in Townatruffane, Kilmacshalgan Co. Sligo. Barony of Tireragh.
