And ever since the police are on search of Johnny Bán
I met with Tommy Conway, two horses and a team
And we trotted on like lightning to a little town called Skreen
I called to father Conway the Parish priest of Skreen.
He gave me a letter and this to me did say
Givve this into the barrack and they'll pass you on your way.
He handed me a Cross and beads a sort of holly green
To remember Fr. Conway that lived one time in Skreen
Long life to Pilot James McKeown wherever he may be
He brought me on a small boat till he left me on the ship
With my passage in my pocket and a bottle on my hip
The Captain he came on to me and this to me did say.
