    take the town of Sligo. The O'Hara's were also marching to save the town from the enemy. Both armies met at "Beal an Atha Graugh" and there was a fierce conflict. The English were victorious. The country-side where the river flows into the Moy is called Cloonca which means the "Plain of the Battle".
