Hail dear old village of my birth,
The sweetest spot to me on earth.
Hail: grandest place in memory shrine,
Which round my heart doth fondly twine.
May peace and plenty round thee roam,
And still for aye make you their home.
May fortune from with dazzling sheen,
On the bonny boys of the Sweet Dromkeen.

Twas here lang syne my mother smiled.
On me her best loved darling child
Twas here she rocked me on her knee
But now alas she's gone from me
Ah mother mine I miss you now.
There's none to soothe my aching brow
With such bright love and mildness keen
As thou the pride of all Dromkeen

Twas here my father hand in hand
Oft lead me o'er the smiling land.
How oft we strayed till twilight's ray
Would tinge the waters of yon bay
And then he'd point thro' gloomy bowers
