I often roamed along the strand on many a Summer's day.
Along the vallies of the commons where the lambs used to sport and play.
I travelled Rattoo farm and like wise old Raheen.
And the tide makes no a larm round the shores of Beencuineen.

I have been in Listowel town, it is a pleasant place.
Where gentle men of high renown used come to see the race.
It was held in the Island farm where the grass grows pure and green.
And my poor heart beats warm when I think of Beencuineen.
