“There was a priest living here. He went travelling one day and there was a big crowd of people where he went”
There was a priest living here. He went travelling one day and there was a big crowd of people where he went and he wanted to get lodgings and he would not get any room for himself. He got lodgings in a haunted room and he was told it was haunted.
He went to sleep and during the night he felt a great noise and he got up and there was a man in the room with him. He asked him who was he or what brought him there. He said he was his brother. The priest said you are not my brother. Dont you remember the burn that was over my eye said he. I do said the priest but still you are not my brother. Do you remember the knife you gave me at Milltown fair said he I have it here. You are not my brother. The priest asked him again
Tell me in the of Our Lord Jesus Christ who are you he said I am the devil from hell.
The priest made a ring around him. He told him to step into it and he read prayers over him out of a holy book. The priest put him out through the side wall of the house.
