- There was once a very rich gentleman who had two daughters. They were very ugly looking but thought themselves that they were the opposite.
One day, as they were walking through some fields, they saw a very funny little man whom they thought did not belong to this world at al.. When the two girls approached him, he jumped up and went talking to them.
He said that he had no child at all, but that he would do his best to make them handsome. He took the two girls to a house in the neighbourhood that they never saw before. He asked them to sleep in his little house that night.
When the girls were asleep the little man held a stick over them, woke them again and asked them to pray for him. He put the two girls to sleep and when they awoke in the morning they looked in a mirror and they were lovely-looking.
They returned home again and they prayed hard for a while for the poor man, but in the end they ceased from the prayers. Then the little man appeared to them and warned them to continue their good work or that he(continues on next page)- Collector
