  1. About thirty years ago an Engine Driver named Paddy Tyrell was killed near Strabane.
    Approaching a bridge he saw a rabbit crossing the railway line and not thinking how near the bridge the engine was, put out his head to look at the rabbit. His head came in contact with the bridge and he was killed instantly.
    Tyrell, who was a native of Stranorlar, Co Donegal was the driver of the early train which left Killybegs for Londonderry at a quarter to nine oclock each morning. He returned to Killybegs each night, driving the train which left Londonderry at five oclock in the evening and reached Killybegs at 9p.m.
