All ready the day for town for the ring and new hats, is agreed on and then the wedding day, when neighbours and friends gather and go off on sidecars, first to the church and after the marriage to Rosses Point or Bundoran or Dromahair. The fiddler keeps up the music all the time.
Everywhere there is a great cheering and clapping of hands and on the return home shots are fired showing how glad all are.
The mother, helped by some neighbours had a great feast ready- and with eating and drinking dancing and singing a real old Irish night was spent. Strawboys visited, them and enjoyed a few good dances. It was not the custom with them here to take any drink just the bit of sport they wanted.
Next morning the bride went to her new house and did not visit her father's for a month, when a great day called visiting Sunday was spent.
