    During that time in this vicinity a large track of bog land was taken from the Chrystals and given to a Protestant.
    A lime -kiln was built on it and with the lime burned there, the land was reclaimed.
    On the death of Lord Palmerston Cooper Temple became owner of the estate.
    He was succeeded by Lord Ashley at present residing in England. It was during the latter's time that the tenants become owners of their lands. He has a connection with them still however for the minerals and fishing and hunting rights he reserved to himself at the sale. People have to pay bog - rent yet to him for the right to cut turf on the mountain bog.
