    and they put the remainder up in the houses until that time next year. Some palm is put in the out-houses to bring luck on the stock.
    Some time ago children used to wear crosses on their shoulders on St Patrick's Day in honour of the great saint. Their mothers used to make them and have them in great style for that day. They were made of rushes and tied at the ends with coloured ribbons and how grand the children looked.
    Harps were worn after that and now shamrock alone is worn.
