    One time a Protestant Gentleman came to the well and he stole the clock. But when he took it home it stopped and it never kept time after that.
    The other holy well is in a field now owned by Mrs. Moffat in Newtownward, beside Grange Co. Sligo, in the parish of Ahamlish. It is St. Patrick's well. The people of the district never knew anything about this well until a priest of the half-parish of Grange, named Fr. Healy preached off the altar concerning the well. He said that there were all sorts of cures at this well. One night a man named Michael Gilmartin, who then owned the field in which the well was in, dreamt of the well. A voice in the dream commaned him to open the well. He dreamt of the well three nights in succession and on the third night, after he got the command, he received a severe slap on the face.
