- Wedding Customs
When a man is looking for a wife he send a friend to the girls house to make a introduction and to see if he would be welcomed as a suiter for her hand. The friend comes back with words and tells the man whether he is welcomed or not. If he is welcomed then the friend and suitor go back to the girls house with a big bottle of whiskey. The man is introduced to the girl and if they like one another their people finish the match these up. Each gets ready for the marriage and settle the day that the marriage is going to take place, if there is going to be a wedding each party invites a certain number of neighbours. Most of these people invited to go to the chapel to see the marriage ceremony. After the marriage ceremony the wedding party leave the chapel they go for a drive to the nearest town and spend a while there drinking and dancing. Then they go home to the wedding house. Some more of their friends some to the house and have a great feast which dancing and playing all the night. About midnight a band of men in disguise called "straw boys" come to the house. They ask if they are welcome to enter the scene(continues on next page)- Collector
