  1. -Local Cures-
    The seventh son or seventh daughter in succession is supposed to have a cure for the ring worm
    When the child is born ordinary earth worms are held in the child's hand for a moment or two. A rule of this hand to the affected part is supposed to cure the ring worm
    A posthumous child may cure a foul mouth just by blowing the breath into the afflicted mouth.
    If you are troubled with toothache kiss the first donkey foal you see in any year.
    If you accidentally meet a hollow stone holding water wash your hands in the water to cure warts
    Drink ferrets leavings to get rid of whooping cough.
    One woman in the district makes up a plaste which does away with cancer but the preparation is very severe.
