One day in in Maugherow as a man was digging in his field. There was two fairy bushes in the field, and (there) they were left there because no one would cut them down because they said the fairies would bring them bad luck. So one day he went down to the garden and dug the two of them up and threw them aside just as he was filling up the holes again with clay. Some of the clay went into his eyes and he went blind and could not get back to his house a hour passed and no one came, till at last he heard the galloping of a horse and he shouted for help and next he found a man at his side, so he told the man what had happened, so the man took him to his house and just as he was going in the door he heard his wife screaming with pain.
