- Once upon a time a man named Owen Conway had a tree in his garden at the front of his house. He had a row with his neighbour who with spite got up early and started hacking at the tree. Conway heard it and ran out and saw him he hunted him but the tree had fallen. He went back to his house and put on his clothes, he then got a few men and in an hour had the tree standing on its trunk, roped and tarred and the tree still grows. The man [not Conway] was drowned in a month after, because the old people said it was unlucky to cut a tree.
