  1. Also in the Deerpark, there are three circles of stones on inside the other . In the middle circle is an excavation as if someone dug there . There is an old story about this place.
    Owen Bell , King of Connaught was killed in the battle of Sligo . Before he died he gave orders for him to be buried , standing up, sword in hand, facing the North . But the Northerns stole his body , and is supposed to have buried him in the Deer park. The excavation was supposed mohave been where Bells' men were looking for him.
