    to play music for the dancers. When the musicians get tired the others lilt for the dancers. Then there is tea and cake supplied in a house near by and they all spend a merry night together.
    Some people say the bonfire is in honour of St. John whose feast day occurs next day, the 24th. June. Some people do not like to hear the childen in town collecting money for their bonfires because it reminds them that the long summer days are going away again.
    In Sligo the people call it "bone-fire"night and the children collect money from passers -by in
