    from the meadow field in April. She is a brown bird like the thrush and builds her nest on the ground in the meadow. She lays many egg and often She has not her young ones reared and when the farmer cuts the meadow they are all killed.
    The pheasant is very plentiful in the woods and on the mountains. The pheasant is preserved game but any one who has a licence have leave to shoot them at certain times of the year.
    The snipe may by found in a marshy bog because it is there she finds her food. She is a fairly large bird and when she is heard whistling it is the sign of rain.
    The water hen is a small black bird and she gets her food from the small fish and the worms near the shore.
    The wild ducks are also water birds. They get their food fromt he young fish, they are preserved game.
    The curlew is a fairly large bird with a long beak and when she is heard whistling it is the sign of rain.
