    When two men are making a bargain there is often a pound or two between them. Then a third man comes along and splits the difference. When the bargain is made both men shake hands.
    Cattle dealers mark their cattle with a coloured pencil and some clip a piece of hair off the animal side. Some people mark them with mud and some tie pieces of rags on their tails.
    When an animal is sold with a halter, the halter is given to bring home the animal but it must be given back again to the person who gave it.
    On the first of February there is a horse fair in Carraig-na-glat about five miles from Sligo town.
    There is no special fair for bonhams but they are brought and sold on th market in Sligo every Satuday.
