  1. Long ago the old people in this district ate potato cake for their supper on Christmas Night.
    This bread was made from a quantity of boiled potatoes, a grain of salt and a handful of flour all mixed up together. When made, the cake was flattened out and cut into farrels. It was then baked on a well-greased pan.
    When baked it was buttered and given around to the people while still hot.
