    10. People say it is good luck to have a horse-shoe in his pocket.
    11. It is said that if a person bores a hole in a penny and ties it round his neck it brings him good luck.
    12. If you threw out dirty water you were throwing it on the fairies. Sometimes when they threw it out they said those words so that the fairies would keep out of the way, "chugat a phúca".
