  1. Like many other places Skeen has its own local saint and what is more surprising is the fact that same Skeen has a rather religions origin. In the seventh century a church was founded in this place of Saint Adamna who is the locat patron Saint of the district. He later gathered various relics of saints, put them into s shrine and left the shrine in the chapel which he built. From the Latin of shine "Scriniccra" Skeen gets its name.
But it is not is Skreen church alone that Adamna has left relics of his associations with the neighbourhood. When one hears the names "Drochead Aunan and "Tubber Aunan the name Adamna is immediately suggested.
Such places and place names exist in skreen to this present day. Over the Summoran stream there is a flag nine feet long and in inches broad which is called the bridge of Adamna. Tubber Adamna which is equally important is situated near Skreen Church, over the well is a stone monument.
