    May is an unlucky month for marriage. "Happy is the bride the sun shines on.
    An old shoe and the tongs are thrown after the young couple when leaving the house for the chapel.
    The bride should wear something old and something new something borrowed and something blue.
    They should have a married woman present at the marriage.
    The groom's sister or sisters should not be present in the chapel during the marriage ceremonies.
    It is unlucky to meet a woman first.
    It is lucky to meet a man with an ass and cart.
    It is very unlucky to meet a funeral or to see a coffin
