  1. There is hidden treasure on Tom McGoldrick's hill in Cloonagh. It consists of a pot of gold and is under a whitethorn bush on the top of the hill. There is a white one eyed hare guarding it which goes to the bottom of the hill every six months and sings there.
One man dreamt of the treasure three nights in succession. On the fourth morning he and some others set out to unearth the treasure because he was told in the dream that it was unguarded.
Having begun the work they continued until they came to a flag which they lifted. A banshee dressed in white suddenly appeared and told them to stop and then disappeared.
The men did not heed her but jumped down under the flag and continued the work. In a few moments the flag fell back into its former position and killed the men.
