    Twenty years ago there lived very strong people some of whom are still alive. Katie Gaffney who lives in the townland of Knocknacross carried a ferkin of butter a distance of six and a quarter miles. She was seen by Domick McKeon who lives in Cartronleine. Thady McGarry Carnacluand carried seven cwts of potatoes on his back. Domnick McKeon of Annaghcarty walked to Collooney a distance of twelve miles when he was eighty six years of age. Most
