    the friends were then invited to the wedding, a merry affair was held on the night of the marriage. This is still done after the marriage. A big drive of horse cars took place from the chapel to the bride's house where the wedding was held. At the wedding there was plenty of meat and drink. The best time of the year for getting married now as well as then is that laid down by the Church advent not lent. People also say that Mondays and Thursdays are lucky days to get married.
