   From my grandmother I heard of St. Brigids cross which was to be found in every house long ago. On the second of February every year, that is St. Brigids day a straw cross was made in every house. The cross which was made in my grandmother's house was made by my great grandmother. The cross which she made was about nine inches long and four and a half inches
