- (continued from previous page)Tailoring is not such a good trade now-a-days as it was in years gone by, because mostly all the people are buying their clothes ready-made, except some people wht are hard fitted, they must go to the tailor so as to get their suits and coats made to fit them.
There is scarcely any spinning going on in the district presently, but knitting is very common, because mostly every woman in the district can knit both socks and stockings. - Food in olden Times
Long ago there were only two meals eaten in the day They consisted of porridge and sometimes potatoes. The porridge was made of Indian meal. The usual times that they ate were, in the morning and in the evening.
