It was searched but could not be found because there was a little red man who appeared. and the people got afraid and it is supposed to be very unlucky to go near it. This castle is in the townland of Bekey in the parish of Townagh in the Barony of Tirerrill and in the County of Sligo. It is built on lairs of stones built upon one another.
There was a man crossing the field beside the castle and the red man appeared and he asked the man for a match and he said he had no match that he did not smoke and the man got weak on his way home and died immediately.
