    Washing soda is dissolved to put with it.
    The forty gallon barrel is said to spray about a rood of land.
    If the stalks are light this performance is done twice, and if heavy it is done three times.
    In the proportion of five pounds of blue stone to eight pounds of washing soda, mixed with forty gallons of water. This is done to keep the stalks from blight.
    In the harvest the farmers dig the potatoes with a spade or a small loy. They pick the big potatoes in a heap for themselfs, and the seed potatoes are put in a heap and covered with clay for the spring.
    The small ones are used for the hens. and the big ones for eating.
