St Martin's day falls on the 11th of November. There is always a cock killed and the blood spilled on the flag of the door in the flag of the door in honour of St Martin. If St Martin's Day falls on Friday the cock should be killed a day or two before it. A wheel should not go round on St Martin's Day or something will go wrong before the day is ended.
Good Friday is the Friday before Easter Sunday. It is a very sorrowful day because Christ was crucified on that day. The farmers like to set as much potatoes as they can on Good Friday because it is said that if anything is set or sown on that day it will surely grow.
