- The churn was square and had a handle which was turned to do the churning. When all was ready, the churning was commenced and the people were churning for hours and no butter appeared.
An old strange woman came in, and said she would get butter. She took a vessel and dipped it in the churn and threw some of the milk in all directions - North, South, East and West, and then she churned and found plenty of butter.
She then put a charm on the outside of the churn. It was a square piece of leather. Then she departed.(continues on next page)- Informant
