    This untanned hide is very slippery for walking in but since the people of the Gaeltact can afford no better they have to do with them.
    It is said that people who walk with their two feet on the slippery side of the untanned hide will never have a sore foot. The reason for this is that it would be hard to walk on the slippery side.
