    a pot of gold.
He and his wife eyed used the
gold and made use of the pot in
    the kitchen.
One day a poor scholar was
passing and they gave him lodging.
They scholar eyed the pot and saw
that there was writing in it. He asked
the woman what it meant but she being
a bad scholar did not know how to read.
When they took the pot off the fire the
scholar exclaimed the writing and said it
meant- "The same on the other side".
Next morning McDermott and the scholar
dug at the other side of the bush and
found a crock of gold. McDermott gave some
of it to the scholar who went off on
his way. McDermott with all their money

English came and they took it
    from him.
