    boys were waiting to receive her, and with their boats took off their smuggled goods and hid them away in caves in Gleann na Galt of Glendine. While the longshore boys were taking off the goods from the French ship they informed the French Cpt. that a spy was watching them at Fenit at the opposite side of the bay. In the dark of the morning early he took a boat with four men and crossed over to Fenit. He remained there for some time watching and eventually got the spy and shot him but not before he had succeeded in sending a message to a revenue cutter that was lying at Tarbert in the Shannon. After finishing the spy the French Cpt. returned to his ship underneath
