    yellow meal bread was eaten. In every house there was a small quern for grinding the corn. They used put down a big fire, and when the hearth would be hot they used take away the coals and sweep it, and put down the bread.
    Meat was always eaten. Every farmer used kill his own cow and cure it. Salt meat was generally eaten. Fish was always. They used catch mackeral and herring back in Dingle. Turnips and cabbage were always eaten. The people used not stay up late at night unless they were playing cards.
    Christmas was a special feast time, because they used have whiskey, tea and porter during that period. Whiskey was very plentiful. It
