    hair. It is said that all the mermaids wear a little green cap on their heads, and it is also if you take the cap the mermaid would follow the cap.
    The man snatched the cap from her head, and she followed him. He then put her up on the load of seaweed and he carried her home and some years after they got married, and it is said they had a small family.
    Some years later the man was cleaning a loft to stow away some potatoes up there, and as he was throwing down the things, he threw down the little cap on the flor and when the mermaid saw the cap she snapped it immediatly and went off t the sea, and the poor man never saw her after.
    It is said also that if anyone sees a mermaid they will be drowned.
