There is a fort situated in the middle of a big field near Castleisland, and the following story is told about it.
The owner of the field thought the fort was in his way, and said he would knock it. One day he set out to knock it. He cut the briars off the ditches and put them into a car to remove them. The day was very calm, but when he was drinking his tea, a great whirlwind came and blew the bushes off the car up in the air, and after a while they came down again.
The owner went home and never interfered with the fort again.
